Evergy is the parent company behind electric delivery across nearly every city we've sampled. It just shows up under slightly different regional entity names depending on where you are. Evergy Kansas Central covers Olathe, Topeka, Lawrence, Manhattan and Salina; Evergy Kansas South covers Wichita; and plain Evergy covers Overland Park. They're all the same corporate parent, so the practical difference is which name appears on your bill.
Kansas City, Kansas is the real exception. It's served by its own municipal utility rather than Evergy in any form.
