| Utility | Provider | Most common in |

| Electricity | Central Maine Power | Portland |
Central Maine Power delivered electricity at sampled addresses across Portland, Lewiston, South Portland, Auburn and Biddeford. The state's largest population centers, mostly clustered in southern Maine. Bangor, further north and east, runs on Bangor Hydro instead, a separate utility with its own territory.
Every city we've sampled except Bangor is flagged as a deregulated retail market. Central Maine Power owns the wires and keeps the lights on either way, but you're free to shop for a competing electricity supplier in those cities. Gas and water coverage isn't consistently confident yet in our sampling for these cities, so those accounts are worth confirming individually at the address level.
Mostly. Central Maine Power covers Portland, Lewiston, South Portland, Auburn and Biddeford in our sample. Bangor is the exception, served by Bangor Hydro instead. Run the lookup to confirm your specific address.
In the cities we've sampled outside Bangor, Portland, Lewiston, South Portland, Auburn and Biddeford, yes, those are flagged as deregulated markets where Central Maine Power delivers the power but you can shop for your own supplier. Confirm your city's status with the lookup.
Bangor runs on Bangor Hydro rather than Central Maine Power, and it's not flagged as deregulated in our sample the way the other cities are. A genuinely different setup from southern Maine's pattern.
Our sampling doesn't yet have confident gas or water data for these Maine cities. Coverage varies by address in ways we can't generalize citywide. Check the lookup for a confirmed answer at your specific address.
