Eversource and National Grid split electric delivery across the cities we've sampled roughly down the middle: Eversource covers Boston, Springfield, Cambridge and Newton; National Grid covers Worcester, Lowell, Brockton and Quincy. Gas doesn't follow the identical map. Eversource delivers gas in Worcester, Springfield, Cambridge and Brockton, which means a Worcester address can have National Grid electric and Eversource gas at the same time.
Whichever utility owns your wires, Massachusetts runs a full retail electric choice market.
