You’ll find cordless drills, impact drivers, and reciprocating saws on job sites across the country. That’s because, over the last 10 years, cordless power tools have come a long way and compare very favorably to their corded counterparts. They’re now durable and powerful enough to get the job done – day in and day out.
The same thing hasn’t been said about cordless table saws, however. Early models lost their charge quickly and were severely underpowered to boot, which may explain why people are hesitant to adopt. That has to change and we think the DeWalt FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Cordless Table Saw is the one to set the record straight.
To give you a quick overview, this table saw is compact, lightweight, and easy to carry – even for one person. The brushless motor is powered by DeWalt’s FLEXVOLT 60V lithium-ion battery, which gives you enough juice to cut about 230 linear feet of 3/4″ plywood and 125 linear feet of 2×4 material on a single charge.
Though we would have preferred a 10″ blade, the 8-1/4″ blade is capable of cutting materials up to 2-1/2” thick at 0 degrees and 1-3/4″ at 45 degrees. The saw has a telescoping fence that attaches to the fence rails and can be extended 24″ from the blade. The fence has a flip-out ledge that helps support wider materials.
DeWalt provides a clear blade guard and riving knife that installs without tools. The saw also has dust collection ports on the blade guard and under the saw on a dust shroud that surrounds the blade.
To round things out, the saw has a steel roll cage for durability and stands on large rubber feet. A paddle-style kill switch, miter gauge, and push stick are also standard.
Overall, this is a solid cordless table saw. It’s portable enough to take anywhere and has enough power to cut through thick hardwood without skipping a beat. We would have loved to have a 10″ blade since they’re more versatile, but this one should work just fine in most situations you’ll encounter.Learn More Here
