Con Edison delivers electricity to every address we sampled across the five boroughs. New York runs a choice market, so you can technically sign up with a separate retail supplier, an ESCO, for the supply portion, but since 2019 those residential offers have been sharply limited. Most New Yorkers simply take Con Edison's standard service. Enter your address in the lookup to confirm what applies to your building.
Not exactly. Your gas provider is set by where you live, not by shopping: across sampled New York City addresses, National Grid serves about two in three and Con Edison the rest. You don't pick between them. The network already covering your building determines it. If you're not sure which one you'll be dealing with, run your address through the lookup before you schedule a move-in.
Water comes from the city's municipal system at every address we sampled. One system for the whole city, fed largely by gravity from reservoirs upstate.
